|
|
There are several successful cholesterol lowering drugs being prescribed currently. Some people report no problem with them. However, a large majority, including my husband Jerry, developed severe leg cramps with each one he tried. They would "throw him out of bed" in the middle of the night. We now know, compliments of David Winston whose website is one of our links, that these drugs deplete CoQ10 levels in the body, which causes the reaction he had. SO...if you are taking a cholesterol prescription, or natural statin, you MUST also take CoQ10. At least 30mg, 50mg, or 100mg. daily. Try the lower, cheaper one first. (I know of some people with MS who tell me that their symptoms are helped by taking 100mg CoQ10.)
Now Jerry is on RED YEAST RICE with 30mg daily of CoQ10 and has had no trouble. We do not know as yet what effect it is having on his cholesterol. He will have tests run in about 3 months. |
